Having a treat should not be filled with guilt! These cookies are the perfect snack. Sweet and chewy and the best part is that they are good for you and for your heart.

1/2 cup mashed banana
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup honey or molasses
1 tbsp vanilla
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup dry nonfat milk powder
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1-2 cups dried raisins, dried cranberries and/or chopped prunes
1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Mix banana, peanut butter, honey or molasses and vanilla well. In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, milk powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, the dried fruits and nuts, if using. Stir both mixtures together.
Use a 2 tbsp ice cream scoop to drop onto a lightly greased baking sheet, flatten slightly, and bake 10-15 minutes at 350*. Cool on foil, not a rack so the cookies remain soft. Can freeze up to 3 months.
